I loved the book! Rich charactere, a dark story and even several heart pumping moments, be it action or romance. 5/5 Cannot wait to dive into the next one

Read this when I was 16 and wanted to read it again but it didn’t slap as hard. Still obsessed with Jem and Will though

I heard that people love this series more than The Mortal Instruments but I wanted to go in with an open mind. However, I did find this book quicker to get in to than I did with City of Bones. I think this may be down to understanding the world already and I liked that it re-capped a lot of information that was brought up in the first three books of The Mortal Instruments.
I also loved that they referred to names that you know of from The Mortal Instruments, it was really quite clever. I also loved that it was set in London and they mentioned places that I know of, so it was nice to imagine them in an older era.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait to continue on with the series! It also excites me to get back in to reading The Mortal Instruments too!

Ta książka jest totalnym powrotem do domu, do czasów kiedy wchodziłam dopiero w fantastykę i o boze jak cudownie było wrócić do tego świata.
Widać progres jaki Clare zrobiła przez lata, o dużo lepsza fabularnie jest ta książka. Bohaterowie są o dużo bardziej ciekawi i wyraziści, sam pomysł na główną bohaterkę która nie jest nocnym łowcą jest super.
I mamy w końcu złoczyńce który nie jest z tektury jak było w przypadku darów.
Napewno tez dużo dodało mi to ze czytam to z moja najwspanialszą bestie, z którą czytałam poprzednie książki Clare, w to bagno wchodzimy zawsze razem (NASZE POMYSLY SA CUDOWNE STARA, PAMIETAJ).
Jestem całkowicie team Jem, TA SCENA Z KOTEM? IM IN LOVE.

After the climax of the Mortal Devices, it took time to get back into a new story with new characters, but this is a strong start. Excited to see where it goes.
Eu adorei! Sempre quis saber sobre a história inteira de Will, Tessa e Jem, sem ser apenas os pedaços que aparecem nos outros livros. Eu gostei muito da reviravolta, realmente estava tudo parecendo muito fácil no começo, então era de se esperar que houvesse alguma coisa errada. Não gostei que o Thomas morreu, eu realmente gostava dele e queria que ele ficasse com a Sophie.
Admito que não me envolvi muito com o Will. Ele parece uma cópia levemente modificada do Jace: sarcástico, problemas com a família, é grosso sem realmente querer, devido a seus problemas internos, mas às vezes é gentil, chegou no instituto sem a família, órfão. No entanto, eu acho que os conflitos de Will são mais complicados do que os de Jace. O fato de que alguma coisa que aconteceu com sua família foi tão grave que o fez sair de casa e ir morar no instituto aos 12 anos me assusta um pouco, pois deve ter sido muito grave. Não gostei que ele foi rude e desrespeitoso com a Tessa no final do livro e que isso aparentemente é culpa de seus problemas mal resolvidos, isso é um aspecto irritante do personagem, mas entendo que esse não é o último e precisava ter uma premissa para o próximo. Aliás, estou bem ansiosa para descobrir o problema de Will que apenas Magnus pode resolver, isso parece ter sido um resultado do reconhecimento de Will de seus sentimentos por Tessa. Outra hipótese é que tem a ver com Cecily, sua irmã.
Oh, Jem. Ele é simplesmente incrível. É muito sábio e gentil, faz com que a pessoa se sinta totalmente confortável com si mesma. Pensar que ele foi torturado ainda criança por um demônio na frente de seus pais quebra meu coração. Seu vício não é culpa sua e eu sinto vontade de trucidar o demônio que fez isso com ele, pois ele não merece nada do que aconteceu.
A história é muito envolvente e agradável de se ler, mal posso esperar para começar a ler o próximo livro, que acredito que será ainda melhor.

I can't figure out why everyone is in love with Will. I'm sure in the next book there's some explanation for why he acts the way he does, but for right now I think he's an asshole. I hate how he treats Tessa. Whether something horrible happened to him as a kid or not, he treats her like shit.
If I didn't suspect Jem of being gay I'd want Tessa to be with him because he's respectful and kind and doesn't go kissing her and then expecting her to sleep with him. Ugh, Will is such a prick.
