The romantic tension between Jen, Will and Tessa got me not gonna lie. But near the end Will pissed me off
I feel like I'm in the minority of female readers for not enjoying books set in the 19th century, especially not the First Industrial Revolution, so I was pleasantly surprised to find the combination of said setting + the Shadow World SO FUN. It's the etiquette and the skirts that get me but of course Shadowhunters are notoriously lax w/ propriety. The bad guy was ok, not great, but Tessa, Will, and Jem (and Church) more than made up for it. Big steampunk vibes mixed with magic. Engaging dialogue. Lovable characters with distinct personalities. Def have to read at least the first three of The Mortal Instruments (and the remaining three after, or simply all ofTMI first and then TID) so don't bother if you're not planning to read at least those two series. Thanks to no almost incest (iykyk) it's much easier to enjoy TID without being like "hahahaha wt actual f??" every couple of chapters. All in all, it's making it's way to the emotional support pile.

It was very descriptive and you really feel like you're with the characters and feeling what they felt. At first I thought it to be slow, but then you really want to finish it and get into it. Off to the second book now!

I love this book.
Solo una palabra, fascinante. Desde el momento en que inicia, la historia te atrapa y te envuelve en ella, asimismo te da los detalles y la información sin perder el punto central de la historia. Un libro realmente bueno, además de explicarte los distintos paisajes y sitios en que se encuentran los personajes haciendo volar tu imaginación.
