This book was so good, I have never read anything quite like it.

Winding, slow-burning metafiction that will not let you go even when you think you've figured out what's going on. Essentially Alan Wake 2 for literary sickos and Ward pulls the whole thing off. This story IS a monster!

really enjoyed the first half of the book, very spooky + coming of age-y, but i got lost in the rest. and it wasn’t even a fun lost, it was a flipping back and forth between pages type of lost because i couldn’t keep up with the different storylines… which could definitely just be a me thing but man was i confused. however, it did reignite my desire to live near the sea in an old new england cottage.
