I don't really know how to summarize this, so I am going to just say that this is mysterious and meta. There are multiple people writing and multiple viewpoints...and multiple mysteries.

I wasn't obsessed with the story itself, but I was intrigued by the writing. There were times, however, where the lack of transitions made it feel disjointed. I felt thrown out of the book and its elements (and great setting), and that didn't make me want to continue as fervently.

I would give this 3.5 stars. It felt too much like a first draft of a book.

DNF@7%. Too YA in the beginning.

Closer to 4.5. It’s hard to not be tired of stories with this particular style (the book even comments on that near the end, because of course it does) but if you can accept it as fresh it is really well done. Constant discomfort punctured by sharp moments of horror, and an ending that unravels as horribly as you’d want.

Boring, weird, totally bizarre in the second part. I don’t get why this author repeatedly creates incomprehensible “twists” in their stories. I’ll keep reading them, but damn, can we get a break and actually understand the plot for once?

It took me a while to get used to the writing style, definitely not for me.  I found it excessively confusing. However the story kept me intrigued and I kept going but ended up disappointed by the ending. There were just too many plot twist, all at the final pages. Some made sense and somehow fitted with the story, but for some others I still wonder what purpose do they serve other than catching the reader off guard.

Kind of a mind fuck once you get all the way through it, really clever and well done altogether.
