Adorable & Sweet Read

This was my first Julia Kent book, and I loved it! The narrator was terrific, and I cannot wait to read/listen to more!
Mal and Will are a couple I want more of! Just the right amount of sweet and sexy!

A romcom that's a little dirty, a lot flirty, breakout funny, and just a great read!

When Mallory Monahan answers the job ad for a professional fluffer; #1 she's desperate (she's to the point where she might have to move back in with her parents), #2 she's a professional stager (the job description was close, even if they called it something different), #3 did I mention she was desperate (the spam ads of marrying a Nigerian prince were beginning to look enticing).

Keep your beverages set far away or you may be cleaning up your own spit takes. (Is that too punny when a fluffer job is involved?) Anyway, Fluffy is hilarious, so this really is a warning; read and drink at your own risk.

When Mallory arrives at the job site and things go from desperate to...well let's just say she finally figures out what a professional fluffer does. Back in high school, she was humiliated when her car was decorated with the words "most likely to become a porn star", little did she realize the joke would actually come back to haunt her. To add to her humiliation, her high school crush, Will Lotham, arrives on set with the cops in tow. Could her life get any worse?

With a ten year class reunion looming, no job, the possibility of moving back in with her parents, and the humiliation of answering a fluffer ad Mallory doesn't understand when Will seems to take an interest in her. Is it to complete her humiliation? Because he came in second best back in high school, is it revenge? Or could it be real interest?

When you hear laugh out loud funny, you sometimes think it's an exaggeration. Well, in this case, believe it! This book will make you laugh, make you cry, and make you love like you are the main character in the story. Mallory is the kind of character I can relate to. Smart, but not afraid to let people know it, she is unashamedly confident in her ability. When the crush of her high school life makes an unexpected reappearance at the most inopportune time, the sparks fly! And not necessarily the kind you are thinking! But we quickly learn a little of their history, and as the story goes on, the fires begin to burn hot. I loved the chemistry between Will and Mallory. Once they finally get past their high school social stigmas, it's clear sailing. It's a fun listen, with passionate characters and just a sweet, fun filled time.

Erin Mallon is one of my favorites and I am so glad that she narrated this. Her comedic timing is spot on and can make me laugh so easily! Her voices are always set for each character, giving us the perfect feel for their personality. I loved it!

It took awhile to build, but was fun and lighthearted! I didn’t mean to read it in one sitting, but I did. Also when I tell you I laughed out loud to the point of crying at one part near the end, I 100% mean it.

Spoilers:
At 37 percent, I'm somewhat enjoying this story so far, but the FMC being so naive and immature is making it difficult to fully enjoy it. For someone who is supposed to be intelligent, she has the maturity of a middle schooler. I don't even mind that she didn't know what a "fluffer" is; it's the fact that it took her WAY too long to figure out the job isn't what she thought. She had plenty of clues that should have allowed her to figure it out WAY before she did, especially as someone who is supposedly intelligent. And she was going to turn down a job she desperately needs because of fear she'd revert to her old high school crushing ways? Grow up and be a damn adult. I hope this book gets better.
At 54 percent, this book would be so much better if the FMC had an OUNCE of maturity.
At 59 percent, "In an instant, all traces of that teenage girl in me are gone, disintegrating, turned to stardust that sweeps off me like a fine spring breeze. I am all woman now, mature and wanting." I beg to differ, Mal. Maturity still lacking at this point. Because what happens a few pages later? She flees a simple situation. Flees! Like, doesn't say anything like a MATURE adult, and just flees. Childish.
At 63 percent, I feel bad for Will. I think he's in love with this idiot and I pity him. She just sprayed a mouthful of wine all over his shirt because, OF COURSE she did.
At 74 percent, the only reason I don't DNF is because I want to know how this ridiculousness ends. Mal just fled AGAIN. In the two situations that Mal has fled, Will himself didn't do ANYTHING to her, but she lets another person dictate her actions to the point that she flees without saying a word to Will. If HE did that to HER, she would have a breakdown. But she thinks it's okay to do to him? Selfish, immature behavior.
End: I understand why Will was so nervous to propose. He probably was afraid she'd flee as soon as he popped the question. This book could have been great with a complete personality overhaul of the FMC. Premise was great. Execution, not so great. Will was great. This book needed his POV desperately. Without his POV, I was left completely perplexed as to why he pursued the FMC. His explanations, from the FMC's POV, were not sufficient because it sounded like he was describing a different character than the FMC. When he was talking about her positive attributes, I could only wonder, "is he getting her confused with someone else?" FMC was AWFUL and ruined everything, even the lone sex scene. The sex scene was awkward and cringe, solely because of her inner monologue and the stupid stuff that tumbled out of her mouth. I was planning to read the rest of this series, but I am glad I didn't purchase all the books at once. I now only plan to read book three, which I got for free. I'll decide after that one if I should give the others a try.

Lol. I had a ridiculously entertaining time reading Fluffy. I managed to get kicked out of bed for laughing, shushed at the YMCA lobby for cackling like a crone, and then profusely questioned by my children for my inability to talk during a laughing fit.

To say that awkward, innocence doused with more innuendo than my teen years is entertaining would be an understatement! Julia Kent may not have harmed any chickens in this book but I advise not drinking while reading- choking is a legit hazard.

Fluffy is without a doubt highly recommended. But if you have zero sense of humor, a fake valley girl accent, and more extensions than natural hair- this may not be the book for you!

Wildly inappropriate situations and woefully misinterpreted words make Fluffy the genuinely heartwarming story about a woman who mistakenly became a Fluffer. Clearly, Craigslist should not be the main source of employment searches.

This one that never was story is all about a second chance...or really unrequited crush from long ago. Or is it about the dream guy. The football star? So many ways to try and explain away the funniest book I've read this year!

Be careful what you wish for.
Never let your phone run out of battery.
Always listen to your friends...But only when they have good advice!
Don't take your reunion too seriously.
Always be you.

There were moments in this book that were funny. One thing that took away from the anything funny was Mallory's overwhelming insecurities stemming from high school. Some of her alleged naivety was so ridiculous, it fell flat. The worse part of this book was the 10 year reunion.

I was not sure how I felt about Will. At the start of the book, he seemed to be somewhat condescending and arrogant. He didn't seem to do a gradual change. It was more like one day he felt one way, suddenly, he was interested, then he confessed years of interest. Strange.

Also, I expected better from him at the reunion. What he said happened, we didn't get to read, so it didn't mean much for him to say it.

Will and Mallory did get their HEA, but I wanted him to be much more into Mallory then he appeared to be and show everyone. Mallory's 14 year unrequited obsession with Will kind of took some of the fun out of the book.

It was okay if I'm being honest.. but I'm intrigued enough to find out what happens in the rest of the series.

Fluffy is about Mallory being a fluffer. No, not for pillows or anything you think would need to be fluffed up. Anyways, it was pretty funny when she found out what she actually signed up for. Yet, for someone who is so freaking smart.. you'd think she would have done her research before taking said job. Ya know?

It doesn't stop there though.

No, she runs into an crush of hers and luckily for her - he's her new boss. Dun dun dun! Not going to lie, the story and plot just seemed like something I've read/listened to countless times before. I was hoping that the characters would make it a bit more interesting.. but they didn't really do anything for me.

They had their cute moments though?
