5 funny, sweet Stars

This book was SO good. I loved absolutely everything about it. It was a great rom-com but it also touched on some more serious topics without becoming too angsty, preachy or sad. It was the perfect blend of hilarious and sweet and I loved Mallory and Will!!! This is one of my favorite reads of the year simply because it left me feeling so content when I was finished. I can’t wait to read Perky’s book!!

*I highly recommend reading Little Miss Perfect the FREE (at the time of this review) prequel before this!!

Ebook. Purchased. 3.5 rounded down. This was fun but knocked it down because Mal’s constant running away made me feel for her the first time but wore thin the third, fourth, fifth times. Interested in reading Perky and Fiona’s stories though.

This book was super cute. It was a light read, not a lot of depth (and I mean that in the nicest way possible.) I didn’t have to think when I read this, it was just a cute book that had some LOL moments. I loved the close friendships the heroine had. She was a bit annoying in her tendency to run away from her problems instead of facing them and talking about them, but the story was cute. It’s a good quick read.

Ugh, the synopsis seemed so promising...but I couldn't go through a chapter with the too-stupid-to-live heroine... I know it's meant to be funny, but just can't relate to an idiot who doesn't charge her phone before going to a new and unknown work place that's paying a suspiciously high amount of money.

Overall ⭐️
I really didn’t like this book, didn’t particularly like any of the characters apart from the MMC. The humour might have bumped it up a little, but even some of that was overdone. I don’t like single pov, but I could have pushed through and still given the book a higher rating had the FMC not been so annoying that I urged for a respite from her whining.
MMC ⭐️⭐️⭐️
The MMC was the saving Grace. He was cute, sweet, funny, patient and for some insane reason was obviously crazy about the FMC.
FMC ⭐️
Honestly I didn’t like the FMC from the get go. She was overly obtuse, naive and a little annoying with all her rambling and indignation. I liked her less as time went on and she decided she couldn’t be with the MMC because his old HS friends were still bullies who don’t like her. I found this incredibly dramatic and unrealistic, and she just kept running away from the MMC at their reunion. Just darting from one room to another to the ground outside? And then there was the whole jargon about fengshui which in my opinion was OTT.

First book I have read from this writer. This was definitely quite the book. Full of rolling on the floor laughing moments. If you don't have a smile while reading this one there is something wrong. Fluffy is not what she thinks it is when she goes for the job. Not even close and that is what starts her life going down hill. Until her high school crush offers her a job and flirts with her. But will these two actually get together ? Well written funny a feel good book from beginning to end. Can't wait to read the next one.

The beginning of this book was stellar. Serious misunderstanding lands the former valedictorian on a porn set, tasked with assisting the male performer with “readiness.” That entire scene is spectacular. The good girl ends up in a picture with an oiled up naked porn star behind her, anal beads lying beside her, a dildo in her hand, and her face near the crotch of her former crush and the the quarterback. There is some really good banter throughout the book but parts of this story dragged. Her friends skirted the line between funny and mean part of the time. They didn’t take her seriously and dismissed her choices because they wanted her to do something else.
We have all mistakenly texted someone a message meant for someone else but this woman dies it all the time. You’d think she’d check before hitting send on any message ever.
It is definitely on the sweeter side, not much steam in this one. It was a quick, fun read.
