I did really like it, but the middle dragged quite a bit. But by the end i really enjoyed the plot and characters.

This was my 2nd completed Jane Austen read/audiobook listen and I liked it much better than Mansfield Park. The characters were more charming and likeable than those in Mansfield Park and the imagery was lovely (the balls and the picnics, even made me crave strawberries!).
I can't believe I was able to liten to the whole thing on audiobook considering the sheer number of characters to keep track of but with the aid of Sparknotes summaries, I got through it! I actually prefer listening to most classics than reading (for risk of falling asleep when physically reading it) as I can also grasp the story and characters better while sifting out the unnecessary wordy language.
I thought Emma was an interesting character, Miss Bates was funny with her neverending talk, I really liked Mrs Weston, Jane Fairfax and Harriet too.
I also liked Mr Knightley but did think he meeded more time in the story to have made it/the ending more worthwhile.
The Elton were horrid and also did not care much for Frank Churchill.
Overall the female characters were all nicely writtenand fleshed out and I did enjoy the interactions between them.
