It took me too long to read this. I kept falling asleep going through the chapters and had to force myself to finish this because I have to see a book all the way through. I definitely don’t consider this a horror book either. The story dragged out so much, it didn’t get good until the ending then BAM it was done. It was like a 1 minute man.

Did I like this book? I don’t know. Some of the writing was jarring, felt like a modern voice, not historical.
And I wanted to get more time with Elizabeth. What was she? How? She never seemed like the threat to me, unlike the Mudges. That seems like it could have been explored more.
And it did drag a bit, but there were other parts I liked. So 2.5?rounded up.
