This one was disappointing. I was expecting more, and it started off really well. I was interested, and I wanted to know more. My interest did start to fade as I felt like nothing was happening. At around 30%, I thought it was picking up again, and then we switched perspectives so fast and so many times that I felt utterly lost. From that point on, it was just meh with occasional moments of interest. By the end, the 'twists' felt so forced. The foreshadowing didn't feel like it was done well, or maybe there just wasn't enough of it, but I was pretty disappointed with it. Overall, not something I need to read again, or would recommend to people.
A great story with many twists that catch you off guard. Just when you think the story is going one way it goes another. Definitely recommend it!

Adelaide Henry starts out leaving her family home after a tragedy and makes her way to a new homestead in Montana.
There is a diverse group of characters but really the only one that is somewhat developed is Adelaide.
This book was frustrating to read, because it kept promising some big reveal, but when it finally was it was a little lack luster.
I would have enjoyed this book if the story of the women were written in more of a historical fiction genre w/out the creepy trunk and more exploration into the subplots that we were introduced too.
