I thoroughly enjoyed this debut novel. The story was engaging and captivating, drawing me in from the very beginning. However, the significant age gap between the main characters did initially throw me off. However, I found the relationship between the main character heartwarming and not forced. BUT! I felt that Oren had a stronger connection with a certain side character…... The twist was pleasant surprise. Overall, I would recommend this novel and will eagerly read the sequel.

A detective Warlock? Grumpy sunshine and enemies romance? It was all of my favourite everything’s in a book.

Sage was a great character and I so enjoyed the world this was set in. I’m all for werewolves, warlocks and the supernatural and add in a murder mystery element and you have a winner!

Sage, an eager investigator and Oren ‘I work alone’ Rinalis make for a great dynamic. He’s reluctant and she’s out to prove herself and there’s a lot on the line. Werewolves are being murdered and there’s a race against time to prevent anymore deaths. Surely they can put aside differences and work together?

I loved the trope and I was absolutely HOOKED. The audiobook immersed me like no other and the narration was super easy to get into. From the amazing characters, to a poltergeist housemate, there’s so much about this book to love and enjoy. I am fully signed up for whatever else this author brings out now!

Thank you to the author and publisher for this audiobook on NetGalley in return for my honest thoughts and review.
