All The Hidden Monsters is a fantasy crime YA debut novel that’s set in Manchester. I had the absolute pleasure of attending the publication day launch party at House of Books and Friends and meet the author!
ATHM is a perfect blend of crime and fantasy. Set in the northern city of Manchester, the “Upside”, it’s fantastical counterpart, the “Downside”, is full of mythical creatures. There are so many familiar places described as you read, and it’s an incredible feeling reading about real places in your hometown.
What I loved about the book particularly was the found family trope. Sage had such a strong support network around her and continued to build friendships along the way. The world building was there, with the plethora of magical creatures, but it wasn’t overwhelming like many fantasy books, which I appreciated.
Overall, this was such a strong debut with an easy to read writing style, and I will definitely continue reading this series!

Absolutely loved this! Would fall for Oren in an instant and didn't see the ending coming. Sage is a fantastic main character and P is the best sidekick.
This book was so much fun - excellent world building and a whole supernatural world set disguised in Manchester (making me want to visit and spot all of the places!), I loved the magical attention to detail.
Found family is always one of my favourite tropes and it was just perfect in this book, Sage and P's friendship was just beautiful, as well as their interactions with the rest of the gang. A highlight was also, of course, all of Sage and Oren's moments together- seeing them bounce off each other, and eventually open up to each other.
Now, the mystery- starting literally from the first sentence, the plot was so perfectly pieced together, so many really fun clues, twists I did not see coming and an ending I absolutely wouldn't have guessed.
Overall I adored this book, bring on book two!

Thank you Netgalley, Amie Jordan and Belinda Audio for the audio Arc of All the Hidden Monsters
Narrated by Kate Dobson
This is my first book by Amie Jordan as I like a good mystery thriller mixed in with warewolves./ witches and warlocks. What is there not to love?! All the Hidden Monsters is a great paced mystery thriller surrounding Sage, who is trying to figure out what world she belongs in. One of her closed friends who was found dead, sparks off an investigation and Sage is determined to get to the bottom of who is killing werwolves. Working closely with Oren, a warlock, they delve into the darker side of who is killing.
I love the dynamics between Oren and sage and the characters are well fleshed out. The narrative is very well paced and I enjoyed listening to Kate Jordan as she kept the characters individual.

Thank you to net gallery for letting me review this book. The narrater of the book brings this book to life as the way they speak and do all the different character voices is so well done and so well executed I really liked this narrator. I really enjoyed reading this book as it was such a great book and the characters in this book are so well written and so well described I really liked the names of the characters as they were so unique. The storyline of this book was told so well and I liked how the author described everything in this book down to the last detail. To say this is a debut book it was fantastic to read and I will pick up more work by this author. The only bit that let me down was that I thought the ending was a bit rushed sadly as there was so much going off and it was so faced paced that I kinda got lost in the last 20 pages. I will definitely be reading the 2nd book in this series xxx

What to expect from this book? Well-thought out characters with clear motives, brilliant portrayals of true friendship and a blossoming romantic feeling (though, in good slow-burn fashion, this book only really sets the scene with the enemies turning into friends), good crime elements (although, if you read closely enough, you can guess the final reveal about 2/3 way through)
Overall, a 4 only because the crime element didn’t surprise me as much. Otherwise, a brilliant new series to look out for. I can’t wait to see what Amie Jordan does next!
I have received an uncorrected proof copy from the publisher through my employer, Waterstones.
