A travel book more about books than travel.

What happens when a reader tries to write? This book. Brit Gavin Young set off across America, beginning in New England, working his way through the south, Texas, California, Montana and Alaska. For each section of his trip, he referred extensively to one or two books he had chosen to represent the area: Moby Dick, Travels With Charlie, The Call Of The Wild, etc. I didn't find the book to be particularly revealing or entertaining. I'd much rather read some of the books referred to in this travelogue!
