More Than Friends was a short second chance romance. Even though it was short the characters and the plot were developed. The characters were charming and easy to fall in love with. Gemma thought she had found the love of her life and leaves behind her small town, best friend, and unapproving parents. After eight years of marriage, she finds out her husband, Bryce cheating on her on their anniversary. Betrayed and hurt she returns home to regroup and finds nothing has changed in her hometown except Rob, her best friend’s attitude to her. Rob had always loved Gemma and when she left and never responded to his messages or phone calls, he gave up. He is now the high school football coach and the father of a young son. Gemma soon comes to understand that Bryce had blocked her parents and Rob from her email and phone. She slowly comes to realize that he had taken over her life and she had done as he wanted throughout their marriage. Now she has to learn to be independent, but can she be strong enough to tell Rob her true feelings?
