The core concept of this novel was promising, and a number of the characters were really interesting - however it ultimately felt like it was trying to do too much at once. Some of the characters were significantly less fleshed out than others, and there was clearly a desire to include nods to the original game that unnecessarily bloated the plot and often felt somewhat forced.

Overall, it had a lot of potential, but didn't end up being anything particularly memorable.

Honestly my favorite of the YoRHa books, though a bit of that definitely had to do with entirely new characters. While some of it felt familiar, the story itself was new and I had a great time reading it. More in-depth review coming soon.
