Another great, hysterical read in the Shopaholic series. If you had not read any of the earlier books I do not recommend starting here. This story picks right up where book 7 left off and there are a number of secondary characters that add to the character of this story that you need to know to understand. Plus, enjoying Becky's high-jinks are better enjoyed knowing her past adventures. I've always enjoyed how almost naive and gullible Becky is but really she is hiding an extremely strong character. When Becky's father and best friend's husband go missing an RV trip to Vegas with her husband, best friend, and mother are just the beginning. Can Becky help her family right some wrongs and maybe save a few marriages along the way? Unfortunately I believe the series ends here but it's something I've enjoyed and will always love coming back to.

Quick read

Oddly Becky isn’t quite so obnoxious in this one. But I still find it odd how everyone lavishes praise and excuses for her bad behavior all the time.

I like some of these shopaholic sequels better than the original. A fun little escape.

Yes I enjoyed it this time. Yes I went on and on in the last one that Becky's problems are not funny, but, damn, I missed it in this one!

See Becky had come to realise that shipping is bad. But that made Becky not Becky! And everyone else in the book started to see it too. Without shopping she was a grey blob, so I found myself wishing she would shop a bit...in moderation!!!!! Cos she is still likely to go overboard and that poor kid will grow up like her. BUT, she was dull. Sigh. Yes the shopaholic needs to be a shopaholic.

In this one the drama is SO unnecessary. If they all would just talk to each other then this whole Vegas thing would not have happened. Silly people.

Still it was fun, but I wish this series would end because the books are starting to be fillers.

"Deep down, I'm scared I'm going to screw up even more. Some people lose their nerve for riding or skiing, or driving; I've lost my nerve for life."

Riding sheep? Rooms named after ice cream? Drama and adventure? Hilarious dialogue? All there. Another great read!

The last three or four instalments in this series have been fairly painful to get through. Each has left me just wanting to re-read the first book again, which was witty and wonderfully original. With Shopaholic to the Rescue, Kinsella ties a bow on the "conflict" she'd started in the previous book. There were a few charming moments, but the rest was so strikingly devoid of any heart that it begs the question of why it needed to be written in the first place.

I don’t really understand how anyone can be upset with this book and give it a bad review. If you’ve made it this far into the series, you clearly have a soft spot in your heart for Becky Bloomwood and you know exactly what to expect. In fact, I liked this one even more than several of the previous ones - there are no massive cringe-worthy moments where I had to get frustrated with Becky. Instead, she finds balance, behaves sanely, and still comes up with some wacky plans, but this time they make sense and serve a purpose. It’s an entirely enjoyable cotton-candy-for-the-brain read with almost all the characters you’ve enjoyed throughout series (because again, if you’re reading this one, it’s because you read them all, right?). A completely reasonable and satisfying finish to the series.

a bit of a diversion from the usual formula and I enjoyed it! it started to feel a little ensemble drama-y towards the end, w all the people involved. Not the strongest entry, but still a fun read. Def had some laugh out loud moments.
