To quote Ray "A Long Tall Drink of Sexy...." That was most definitely this book. Parts were predictable, but the sexual tension was off the charts and I loved the characters! I picked it up after getting home from trick or treating and didn't put it down until it was over. I am hoping that we will one day get Jesse's story because that sweet boy deserves a book of his own!!

So. I have a pet peeve. Well, I have a lot of them but one in particular concerning this book. "Sexy" totally irritates me as a descriptive adjective. There are so many wonderful words that could be used which would convey more and better information. And, OK, once, I could live with but this book is rife with "the sexy cowboy" and "the sexy rancher". First it was just silly and then became seriously tedious.

This is the story of a very closeted ranch owner and the rumored-to-be-gay horse trainer who comes to work for him. I liked both of the MC's, especially Travis, and there was some palpable heat there. The plot felt a bit familiar, especially in its resolution, but the writing was good. I've read two books by this author, and she writes characters who pull me into her stories.

3.5 stars. Read for m/m bingo challenge.
The characters were likable and made me want to get to know them better. Especially the side characters like Lance, Jesse, Clay, etc. It was very easy to read; I didn't get bored or impatient while reading. But it ended rather abruptly. It almost feels as though I haven't finished reading... also, can't say I really cared for the last couple of chapters.
I think I might've enjoyed it more if Ray and Travis's committing to each other didn't come after a big accident where Ray feared he'd lose Travis.

So. Bloody. Predictable.

Jumped to the end after 20 pages and yup, just as I expected. Ugh

I loved Travis and Ray! The sexual tension just overwhelmed me, but in a good way. Definitely a 5 star read. Occasionally the prose was a little purple "Ray began to rock faster, harder, and Travis bucked his hips to meet each thrust, take him deeper. And then it was as if the levee broke, and Ray burst from his tightly held control in a tidal wave of lust and desire. He became a fathomless, swift-moving rapid that pulled Travis under as it flooded over him, into him. He was completely surrounded by Ray. Absorbed. Joined. One. Cleansed in a river of rapture. What he had been was gone. Now he was something new, something different,- a part of another. And he never wanted to be anywhere else." Whew. Lots of passages like that but the connection between these two guys was palpable and saved the book for me. Sexy, funny. Great secondary characters - would love a book with Jessie. But Dot stole the book for me. You could just see her with that shotgun pointed at Sam! Strong writing -love this line "Ray was used to Dot's habit of jumping topic tracks when she was fishing." Hah!

This is Travis and Ray's story. Ray owns a ranch in Montana and on his way back from seeing his lover (who he must keep a secret) he picks up a hitchhiker who turn out to be Travis a renowned horse trainer who is on his way to take a job at the neighboring ranch. There is instant attraction between these two men.

There were things about this book I really liked, and there were things that were distracting as well. Ray and Travis were both very likable characters, even the secondary characters and their views (which I vehemently disagree with) I was able to understand and see where they coming from.

I love a book with angst and sexual tension, and Ray and Travis had plenty of that. There were funny moments, toe curling moments and insanely frustrating moments. At times though I felt like it was bit too much.

The imagery was interesting in this book, there were moments like when the author wrote about horses, that it was fantastic and really vivid...At other times I felt like there was a little too much being described at once, and I was somewhat overwhelmed.

I thought this book was good, and actually on the cusp of being very, very good. There is plenty to enjoy in this story and look forward to see where this author goes with her future stories.
