I devoured this 450+ page book in just about one day, so I think that is a good indication as to how I felt about it. While I wanted something a little different than what I got, I really enjoyed this entire book. The ride from the beginning to the end was great. I also really loved the ending. I was so afraid it was going to have an open ending (I was expecting a very specific open ending), but it didn't. The ending was really satisfying, too.

So good. So, so good.

Another winner. This one didn’t capture me like We are the Ants” but it was still amazing.

I have no idea how to even begin expressing my thoughts on this book. Based on what I'm currently going through with my life, the themes in this book hit a little too close to home.

As with We Are The Ants I practically inhaled this book. I already feel a void where Ozzie and his friends have taken up space..

There's a strong overlap in themes between this book and We Are the Ants. But I didn't mind, it was still told very well. It still tugged at my heartstrings, and I still find it one of the more profound books I've read.

4-4.5.

An intriguing premise that ultimately falls flat between metaphor and physics, this novel of self-discovery, growing up, and learning to deal was readable. I particularly liked Lua, the gender shifting rockstar BFF. Ozzie's reluctance to make decisions was maddening, and while the conceit of the book could have been interestingly executed, I felt that Tommy's disappearance and the shrinking universe kept Ozzie from having to deal with the aftermath of their breakup and choosing what to do with his future in a true way. That said, the way the story gave him two interesting, damaged boyfriends without having him end up with either was really well done. The characters in this book were good, but the structure ultimately undercut the reading experience.

Initially gave only four stars as this made me feel more depressed than I already am...like I'm actually being slowly devoured by the universe, alone while trying hard to fight claustrophobia. I hated the author because of that.

This is my second book by Shaun David Hutchinson and I am not disappointed. I fell in love with Ozzie, Tommy, Calvin, and even Ms.Ross. I felt that he did such a good representation of mental health and finding who you are. The end kinda confused me, but then I realized that the "world shrinking" was Ozzie's way of coping with the breakup. Also, I was disappointed that he didn't end up with either of them, but it just may me loved the book a little bit more. This is such a fantastic book and I highly recommended it.
