Cute summer read, I love books written by this author duo. Kaylee plays volleyball competitively and made me want to play again myself! She also has chronic migraines. Dean is bi which is the main piece of diversity in the story.
Graphic: Body shaming
Moderate: Chronic illness
Minor: Sexual content and Cursing
Kaylee deals with body image issues as she is an athlete on social media. There is light cursing in the book with the F-word as well as some minor sexual content like making out and getting partially undressed but nothing at all explicit, definitely YA appropriate.ems_rxlibrary's review against another edition

Kaylee is a junior who is feeling the pressure of always being perfect. Her mom was a professional volleyball player and she is constantly comparing herself to her mom’s accomplishments. She also has trouble in relationships- always breaking things off before anything gets too serious. Unfortunately for her, she broke up with her best friend after just two months and JUST before their families go on a three week vacation together.
I actually really enjoyed this! Kaylee was not a super likable character. She was self absorbed and selfish for the majority of the book, but I liked her self realization toward the end and how she tries to better herself and actually tries to share her feelings rather than keep them bottled up inside in order to give the air of put togetherness.
Dean and his emotions were spot on. I felt for him the entire time. I can’t imagine having to share a vacation with the girl you have loved forever AFTER she broke your heart.
Overall, I thought this was a cute YA second chance romance!
