I've listened to this audiobook so many times, and I think I just love it more every time. It's funny, it's sad, it's touching. I love the setting in New York during the Vietnam War and seeing those complicated issues through the lens of a kid's eyes. It's a mostly lighthearted story that will sucker punch you with emotions when you least expect it.

I couldn't finish this, but looking at everyone else's star reviews, maybe I should give it another shot!

I loved this. Would be a good novel to teach junior high kids. I need to get my kids to read it.

An excellent book. Kids in 4th through 6th grade would love it. It gets a bit golly gee, Mulberry St sounding at times but then it throws in supper serious issues but it molds together wonderfully.
