I learned a lot, and I’ll definitely be checking out the other works referenced in this text! Very engaging read about how technology made for disabled people isn’t made with their input and how it’s framed as a “fix” or “necessary” to disabled people’s livelihoods, when that is often not true. The chapter about neurodivergence referencing Pokémon as a type of technology space that neurodivergent people can navigate their own way made me happy. Fuck autism speaks!!!

This book is very informative and presents a reframing of how the disabled community is viewed, portrayed, and spoken about. I did find that despite the short page count the book could be repetitive. I would still recommend giving it a read!

This is a fantastic and quick read that I would recommend for literally anyone. New to nonfiction? Read this book. Think you're already familiar with the topic? Nah, read this book.

I think, regardless of your familiarity with ableism and how it presents historically and in current society, this is still an accessible reminder that we all still carry unintended biases around disability.

I read this via audio- which I highly recommend if you enjoy audiobooks.

For me, the chapter around Neurodiversity really hit hard, but it was all very informative.
