Oh my. I wasn’t entirely too sure what to think about The Stranger Upstairs. It was an unhinged, chaotic, train wreck of a story, but like, in a good way ??

Some twists fell flat for me but overall, it was fast-paced and all the craziness made me want to keep reading to find out what the actual heck was going on. Because trust me, I had no idea what to believe while I was reading this. I still don’t even know what to believe

I really thought it's one hell of a perfect horror debut book but it's not .... It kept me into it until chapter 16. The story git sloppy after that and eventually I lost interest. I don't understand why can't authors maintain pace when they are supposed to create a thriller and suspense out of their shabby (or no shabby) story. This is not the debut book I would fall for ...

First off I want to thank Netgalley for letting me read and review this book.

THE STRANGER UPSTAIRS BY LISA M. MATLIN
Out 9/26/23

I cannot believe that this was Lisa Matlin’s debut novel. It was so good! I got Amity vibes and The Watcher vibes. All the while being nothing at all like those.
She is obviously a talented writer! This is definitely one of my favorite thrillers I’ve read this year!
I can’t wait to see what else comes from her mind.
