I got recommended this book by a friend who absolutely insisted I would love it so I gave it a try and I’m not as enthusiastic about this book as I would’ve hoped to be.

For starters I don’t like young adult books and when I told my friend this she said she didn’t either, but loved it and insisted I NEEDED to read it so I picked it up it was no exception lol. The characters felt very young adult, the plot felt very predictable, and the ending was completely an utter letdown. However my rating isn’t lower because I did like a lot of the build up of the mystery because It had so much potential to go in so many different directions. though I predicted what gonna happen early on but figured there’d be a a twist because I thought myself “surely it can’t be that predictable” I was wrong. however it was nice to listen to while I was doing other stuff.

Ya'll...

This wasn’t just a book about a
missing
girl. It was about how easy it is for the world to look away when the
missing
girl is Black. It was about the ways adults fail kids every single day. And it sucks.

The ending? I am not okay. I had to sit there and just… stare at nothing for a minute. I walked outside into the rain on my lunch break. Because the whole time, you’re hoping for a different outcome, but deep down you know. And when it hits, it’s like the air leaves the room. And the twist? The trauma? I'm SICK!

Tiffany... TIFFANNYYY!!!! You really dragged me through it — the frustration, the heartbreak, the anger. And the worst part? This story is one pulled from real life.

I’m not going to stop thinking about this one any time soon. Somebody tell Tiffany to meet me outside. I just want to talk, and sob, for a lil bit. That's all. I swear.
dark sad

The timeline presented in this book is so confusing. Before the Before? Absolutely not. It made the whole reading experience annoying and not enjoyable at all. Couldn't wait to be finished with this one.
