If you have any childhood trauma or abuse or grew up with a friend in similar situation, please proceed with caution. Just a being a mother, reading this was so hard. Good book, I was not ready and I am in tears. This is also based on true events not far from where I grew up and I didn’t know that detail beforehand. Don’t really hits home. So I’m hoping this gives a warning for someone else who needs it.

Second attempt at reading this book, finally finished it. Felt it was repetitive and a bit slow at times. I also wasn’t a fan of the big reveal.

Tiffany Jackson has done it again. I love her writing, raw and emotional one moment, completely artistic the next. This is a story of friendship, good relationships and families, bad relationships and families (child abuse and neglect) and how two people so alike can live completely different lives given their environment. A harrowing yet beautiful tale.
