Pretty straight down the line mystery story. With an alien.

Harry is really trying to make the best of his stranded situation and do the most good he can huh. Really, really liking this!!

Don’t see me as I am. Don’t see me as I am. Everything is normal.

I do wonder what Harry looks like to his human cohorts, what image he is protecting, but I also appreciate that we as the readers see his true form. He’s remarkably dedicated to uncovering the mystery of the killings that drew him back into society, and back into realizing he enjoys being among people. Helping and caring for them as a “doctor” although I’m sure his planet’s version of the degree is very different from ours.

Something about alien fiction like this (or just sci-fi in general honestly) where an “outside force” recognizes innate curiosities about the human condition and the world we live in tends to be my favorite. It’s the kind of hopeful intrigue I want to facilitate in more of my own life, a child-like awe of normal things that are incredibly not normal once you think about them enough. Anything can be interesting! Humans are weird!

Harry’s relief in rejoining a community after being in isolation for so long is how I think it will feel to be able to see more people again as the pandemic slowly eases. I already really adore him as a character and can see myself liking him even more as the volumes go on. Glad my whims took aim at this series!

I guess this is a fine start to a comic series. I didn't find it particularly interesting or particularly uninteresting. I think it sets up a good premise and might evolve over the course of the series but my opinion is that the first volume is unremarkable either in story or art.

I would like to begin this by stating I had watched the tv series before reading this comic.
The comic itself is decent, and the artwork is ok but nothing mind-blowing. Overall it is very average and mostly just a starting volume. All that it does is introduce characters but has very little plot other than the main mystery that occurs but even that takes a back seat to introducing characters. It is more interesting to compare the comic and the show than it is to simply read the comic. The artwork feels aged, the hairstyles remind me of the early seasons of NCIS, and the heavy lineart is very early 2000s in style. I am hoping it gets better from here.
