Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler

i came across it and out of curiosity i had read vol. 1 and the subtle detail in his writing made it boring as he’d just ramble on.
he was an prick who was too smart for his own good and thinking his own ideals so clever that it ended up in negative consequences for millions, even himself. it makes me think, that with power, its Scary how dangerous intelligent people can be and that they are also unpredictable.
other than that it was an ugly read  but interesting if you’re a history buff i guess.

I decided to read Mein Kampf from a historical stand point. I've read a few WWII books, mostly fictional. I wanted to read this as it is a piece of history and something to be critiqued. I gave it my best go but I did end up quitting about 100 pages in as there's only so much hatred that I can stomach. I don't really want to give it any stars at all because the content is deplorable. I seldom say this but, I believe that anyone who reads Mein Kampf should go into it with a closed mind. Make up your mind about your political views and don't let them be swayed or manipulated by someone who is long dead. Granted I don't even think that Hitler's prose is as 'intelligent' as some people would say it is. To put it very mildly, I don't have anything positive to say here. Any 'good points' that might have been made within are 100% muted by the atrocities it supports and the hateful rhetoric it spouts

On comprend mieux la perpective du tristement célèbre personnage, c'est-à-dire un homme qui se croyait philosophe, mais qui en réalité ne faisait que répéter la même idée raciste, mysogine, homophobe, etc,. Tout au long de ces 600 pages

You can't NOT give Mein Kampf a 1/5 stars? like how does it have a 3 star average?
I feel like I should just clear up the fact that I read this for a history project on Germany.
I feel so judged with this on my goodreads shelf.

How do you review this book? Can I really say it is good? As a piece of text it is written reasonably well written, its views clear, its points well made.

But it is seeped in hatred, in metaphor and prose dedicated to views I considered horrid.

I could not finish this book. It was interesting, I would recommend it.

But for me personally, I didn't see why I was reading it at the half way point. Maybe one day i will return to it, to finish it off.

I'll need a reason to do so however.

Hitler's Mein Kampf receives a 0.5 but is truly more deserving of a 0.1

I've read this book to my sister's german dog about 3 times. He is a miniature schnauzer.

He sighs. I stare. We think.

If you simply do not own a copy by the shame of your ancestral lineage, do not bother purchasing it.

If, for whatever absurd reason, you are driven to read this - rent it from a library or borrow it. And once complete, let it collect dust.

Only pull it out when you're ready to come. and critique Hitler. As deeply and disturbingly.

Hitler needs to cook. But not for me.

Do not expend American coin for this tired Austrian pony; history has already paid its price.
