Sublime and transcendent. I can see why there are very mixed reviews because it’s all a little weird, idiosyncratic, non-linear, and nuanced. But for reasons it’s hard to put into words, I found it enchanting and resonant.

Great plot, excellent character work with free indirect disclosure, and fantastic writing on a line level. I love this book.

Def a 4.5 for me. Loved this weird little mediation on love and relationships and what’s even the point.

Interesting premise(s). Vague character(s). No cohesion.

I need to read more quirky, brilliantly written books like this. It’s too ambitious for under 300 pages, but how could it not be when it’s trying to break apart the meaning of love, celebrity, self and more? Looking forward to reading more from Lacey.

The beginning of this book was wonderful. I flew through part 1 at an airport and was dying to get home to finish it. The last two parts did not live up to the promise that part 1 teased. Too many characters with no development that I didn't care for, and an abrupt ending that left me with more questions than "answers."

Another post-9/11 novel about confusion and helplessness. Sigh.

4.5 stars. I loved this one!! Not sure if it would appeal to everyone, but I found it a beautiful story. The depression and loneliness of the main character (and others) really resonated powerfully with me.
