It was kinda funny for a moment, opening the series page and from 18 covers 16 being muscled men.

So, for me this was a feel good story and as such, I felt good. With a very low conflict/angst. Nothing to make me want to shake any of the MCs and scream "wake up!", although Phoebe was a bit pushy every now and then, but it was understandable. In the end it actually fell in a natural sort of a journey to a second chance, would they leap or would they balk on it? I'm glad they decided going for it :D

I am always thrilled when Rachel Lacey publishes a new book! This one is set in Burlington, Vermont where we met Phoebe and Taylor who were high school sweethearts. Phoebe headed out of Boston, to her deceased grandmother's cottage, after a meme blew up her life. Within 10 minutes of being there, she came face to face with Tayor with whom she ghosted 13 years earlier. What follows is a really sweet story of two people learning about who each has become in adulthood with some adorable foster dogs and puppies interspersed. This was low angst and low drama read, which is perfect for a relaxing spring afternoon!

I give this one a 3.25. It isn't very memorable.

Sweet romance about reconnecting with your first love/first broken heart.....and it has puppies!
This is marked as part of a series, but the location is the connection, not the characters, so there is nothing missing by reading this as a stand alone.
