The comfiest romance except when the tension had me internally SCREAMING. Love a book with characters that love books.

Emily Henry has done it again. As a girl who has lost her mom and has one sibling, a younger sister, this book wrecked my heart and then pieced it back together. I loved Nora’s not so typical character and her “nightmare brain.” Charlie. Lastra. The things he says and the way he shows up for Nora in the ways she needs and vice versa. Your honor I love them!

The kind of Gilmore Girls-style banter witty girls want but can't find in real life. Acknowledges the tropes and leans into them in all the right ways that make those tropes so popular. I don't recall giving this book permission to give me feelings though... but its forgiven.

even though i am a lesbian... i did enjoy this book. i did skip over the smut because i think i would gag hahah. but i am a romcom lover and hopeless romantic... so you know, i had to read one of emily henry's books. the enemies to lovers trope is definitely one of my favorites. the relationship between libby and nora alone, warmed my heart. as someone who definitely is a libby more than a nora, but also does not have any siblings yet really connected with their relationship. also the small town vibes reminded me of sweet home alabama a bit, which is a great movie. some lines really got to me- like 'a reminder that there are things in life so valuable that you MUST risk the pain of losing them for the joy briefly having them' and 'even if it hurts, when he shimmers across my mind, it's like remembering a favorite book. one that left you gutted, sure, but also one that changed you forever'. this was a good easy breezy read for my vacation. would definitely recommend to a friend. also would love to see this as a movie adaptation.
