Pros: I enjoyed this book as a lighthearted read in contrast to much of the news in the world today.
I thought his description of his life during Covid lockdown and his experience with cancer was powerful.
Cons: Even though I love Italian food, Mr. Tucci and I clearly have different preferences.
The description of a timpano made my stomach turn a little bit (google it if you dare). I also found it funny that simple recipes such as spaghetti with pan fried zucchini was presented as "elevated" when that was basically what I ate in college when I didn't know how to cook.

Beautifully written, can’t wait to make some of the dishes he included in the book. He seems like such a wonderful person. I want to be his friend.

Lovley, heartwarming, anecdotal, all around good time. I want to cook and taste everything he writes about. ST just makes everything feel good and makes the world a little less bleak.

I was between 3 and 4 stars with this book. It was great read that felt elegant to be a part of and left me understanding who he is in his taste of food and life. The only thing I didn’t love was the ego at times. He covered his name dropping with comedy but it fell flat and took away from the elegance of the book.

I drove about fifteen hours by myself over the past two days and Mr. Tucci was excellent company. Highly recommend the audio version.
