Review: Welp, it's official. I'm obsessed with Rebel Blue Ranch and with Lyla Sage. Picked up Done & Dusted on a whim based on some reviews I had seen on Bookstagram and I'm really glad I had the foresight to also recommend this one because I NEEDED to be able to read this one immediately after finishing the Done & Dusted.

And while I'll admit that Wes & Ada's story didn't pack as much of a punch for me as Emmy & Luke, it was such a slight difference in enjoyment I'm not even going to go into it. Both books were so fun and I continue to enjoy the characters, the family element, the settings, the romance/steam, and the plotlines. Absolutely solid series and I can't wait to for the next installment!!!

Another sweet, low-angst cowboy romance. Wes was such a sweet cinnamon roll and I swooned every time he called Ada sweetheart

That said, I do tend to prefer my books on the angstier, more emotional side. I think exploring more of Wes’ depression would have fleshed out the story nicely. Likewise with Ada’s issues following her marriage: they certainly played a role but all was resolved very quickly (but how Wes handled her getting scared? Holy cow so sweet)

Like many I am still itching for Gus and Teddy’s story (I’m really hoping for Cade and Willa vibes from Heartless)

This is a nice, light read. It's romantic and Wes is incredibly emotionally mature - definitely book boyfriend material - and what all men should aspire to. I've never met a cowboy that in touch with their emotional health and lacks ego.

I really liked Ada and Wes together. They were really cute. I loved how patient and caring Wes was for Ada. The scene with him waiting at the border to come back KILLED ME. It was so damn sweet. He just KNEW she'd be back. I think I liked Brooks and Emmy's story more though. They were really funny (plus I have a thing for guys named Luke) and their relationship was hot from the get-go. What I'm REALLY looking forward to is Teddy and Gus though. That's going to END ME. I hope it's as good as I'm building it up in my head!

per my spreadsheet:

the ending of this book was closer to how friends should have ended. except for Ross sucks and Weston does not even a little bit

I liked this book so much more than the first one and the first one was pretty good. character dev was great, just about the right amount of conflict. bring on the next book.

spice 🌶  - a 4 🌶  spicy (romance.io scale)
length - just right
reading speed - read in 2 days
did it make me cry? - it frickin did.

Westin Ryder, the man that you are <3 I loved this book just as much as Done & Dusted. I really liked the pairing of Ada and Wes — two people who are opposites but they balance each other out. And he is just so good to her with her fears and anxiety.
