gripping at best, but the storytelling is awkward (tales inside tales, everyone is either Linton or Catherine), the characters are mostly pathetic, and i’m confused on the ultimate moral of the characters’ ambitions: at the end, it is only CtY and Hareton who are saved, who basically come to embody the best of CtE and Heathcliff when young - but what saved them, because neither atoned for the sins of their elders, they just happened not to have the gypsy birth of Heathcliff?

My favorite book "The Favorites" is loosely based off of this so I had high expectations, and unfortunately, these didn't meet them. I found the pacing slow and the writing hard to read, however it was beautifully written. I liked the themes of love, obsession, grief, heartbreak, how 2 souls can be bound after death. I found it interesting that the first half of the book was about Heath/Catherine/Edgar and the second half was following the aftermath of that fallout and the impact on their children. Loved how messy and chaotic it was.
Overall, didn't love Heath's character or the writing.

Not a romance, rather a subjective love story.
Alice Hoffman once said "read Wuthering Heights when you're 18 and you think Heathcliff is a romantic hero; when you're 30, he's a monster; at 50 you see he's just human,". So it’s interesting to see all three during Heathcliff’s development throughout the book. I did find myself tiresome throughout some parts of the book but overall enjoyed Wuthering Heights. :)

Definitely not what I was expecting, but I really enjoyed it.
Would have given 3.5. Not as good as I’d hoped, but defo picks up some really good momentum as it goes on.
