A really good example of a classical book that is just a literary soap opera. Good for if you like very dramatic emotional-driven novels with mostly gray characters. I liked parts of it. However it was REALLY drawn out. The writing style itself was fine, but with how drawn out the second half was it was really hard to finish and get through. The resolution felt kind of rushed because of how off-screen it was. Wished we got to see more of it. This doesn't really work well as a novel comprised of flashbacks. That said, it wasn't horrible. Just somewhere in the middle. I'm surprised of how ambivalent I am towards it since I see most people have such strong opinions on it one way or the other.
Go listen to the Kate Bush song this instance and watch the music video at the same time.

Can't remember how many times I've read this book, I fell in love with it as a teenager and I imagine I'll still be reading it when I'm old. It is timeless, as rocks, as hatred, as passion, as Heathcliff and Chathy's love.

Although generally targeted as the tragic romance between Catherine and Heathcliff, it is just as much a psychological study on out unreliable narrator Ellen Dean which I could not loathe more. Hardly saying anything revolutionary here but there really is a reason this book is a classic. This is a novel that would translate quite well onto the screen I think so I definitely want to look into existing adaptations but given the tack record of Jane Eyre adaptation I don't have very high hopes.
My life will always be defined as before and after I read that line of Heathcliff telling Catherine he can forgive his own murderer but her could never forgive hers. It makes me tear up just to think of it.

“¿Acaso cree que él ha pensado tanto en usted como usted en él?”
Despues de leer este libro estoy convencida de que necesito una clase de escritura dictada por Emily Brontë, trata de temas complejos como la moralidad, obsesión y emocionalidad de una forma que resuta, en gran manera, conmovedora.
El estilo del romanticismo, convierte a la historia en una prosa sumamente poética y ornamentada al grado de producir variedad de emociones en mí. Le agradezco al cielo por cruzar mi camino con esta joya de la literatura.
