Very very good book, end a bit (intentionally) frustrating, early chapters didn't grab me as much as when it starts to grow focused on the main thing, besides that no complaints. What A Strange, Terrific Experience!

I chose this author after hearing him mentioned several times despite the fact that I do not read much fiction. It was interesting, articulate to the point of verbose in some details, and kept my attention from beginning to the end. I enjoyed the matter of fact way that trysts were described and the way San Francisco and San Narciso sort of swirled around me while I was ensconced in the novel. The ending was an almost inevitable trail leading back to the beginning. Will share with friends.

A friend recommended this book to me. It is well written. I understand what it is trying to do. That being said, I found that I was having to force myself to pick it up and read just to finish it. The book felt like it was a lot longer than it really is, because I just wasn't enjoying it. At all.
