I am not sure what I was expecting, but this was not it. I think I would’ve understood it better if I had a stronger background and teenage slasher movies. Not a fave.

4.25* for my first read. Knowing how things go with SGJ this will go up upon future reads! A slasher horror from the Killer's perspective shouldn't have so much heart but this one does. Much like his other works this is a book with layers and at the top most layer it's a fun slasher with plenty of gore and nods to classic slasher movies. Our final girl Amber, whilst not quote at Jade Daniels levels, is pretty awesome and I love that sitting beneath the surface is a tale of grief and loss.
I just couldnt get into this and it was taking a long time for things to happen. Also it was just so american
