I’ve not really connected with Beth Moore’s work for decades because … well, she’s super southern. I was a New Yorker. And it felt like a type of biblical womanhood very counter to the one I know and understand. I stand very pleasantly corrected and chastened for my bias. How touching to see her full journey; to see where she has taken a stand in faith and extreme courage for women, Jesus, and truth. Really loved the last portion; blown away by her steadfastness. Audiobook.

I have been familiar with Beth Moore as an evangelical author and speaker for some years, but I gained new respect for her when she was one of only a handful of Christian speakers who came out against Donald Trump. She eventually left the Southern Baptist Church that she had grown up, over issues of mistreatment, harassment and sexual assault of women with the church. Reading this book did not diminish my respect for Moore. The memoir was interesting, insightful and seemed honest. I loved listening to the audiobook and hearing the author tell her own story. As memoirs go, this is a good one.

Just excellent. Ties together well. Humorous and intense. I feel we really know the author through her vulnerability and style.

Beth Moore’s story is one of the most heart tending and beautiful books I’ve ever read! Growing up, I’ve encountered Beth’s Bible study books in the churches my family attended, but to see the behind the scenes story of her life and how those Bible study books changed women across the world was amazing! Reading her story will make you laugh, cry, and reflect on how the finger prints of God shaped Beth’s life in ways we will understand in eternity. Her courage to be so transparent about the things she has endured from her family, her marriage, her ministry, and even church life was admirable. I ugly cried listening to her share about her experience visiting a new church and denomination. Thank you Beth for your ministry, teaching, and vulnerability, but most of all your unrelenting pursuit of Jesus!
