A beautiful debut which captivates the magic of the Seelie (a lovely change from fae!); the descriptions of the world of Elfayne is stunning, with rich vocabulary that makes you feel like you’re physically there. There is a heavy underlying theme of grief which whilst hard hitting, is very well presented. The ending had me feeling like I had whiplash, and for someone who thinks they can see things coming - I was taken by surprise!

Only lowered the rating as I found the first half quite slow and long in the tooth, the last 50/30% was epicly good!

After losing her mother and Granny to mysterious circumstances that she can't quite get her head around, Elsie is navigating her way through life alongside her Grandpa and best friend Rach. The grief is overwhelming and she seems to have lost many so called friends along the way who just couldn't be there for her like she needed. When her Grandpa gifts her a mysterious necklace for her birthday, the truth behind it will soon be revealed. When she wakes in a completely new world surrounded by magic, mysteries and threats from monsters and rebels - everything Elsie thought she knew is about to change.

This was a great debut and I so admire an author that can think up a whole world completely different from our own with it's own magic system, history , enemies and rules that seem so believable. The world we are based in is Scottish inspired and the world was so vividly written on the pages that I could see exactly what Elsie was experiencing.

The twist honestly had me gasping, I was so shocked at what happened and am so excited for the revelations in Book 2.

If you like the sound of:
- scottish inspired romantasy
-friends to lovers
- shocking twists
- great female friendships

Then this is one to add to your tbr.

Thank you to the author and Bee Blossom PR for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

What a fab book! This was so addictive and fast paced and I loved all the developments. The world building was so good and I loved the fantasy world!

The book had me on the edge of my seat, especially in the latter chapters and I really hope a sequel comes as I need answers!!

It is not often that you stumble upon a debut novel, love it straight away and find yourself wondering when the next one is coming out. With A Legacy of the Light this is exactly what I experienced!

This is a romantasy novel with themes of Scottish folklore in which we are introduced to the Seelie and the world of Elfayne. This was an instant hit for me as I have a huge soft spot for Scotland and the highlands so this immediately peaked my interest. The female main character Elsie is dealing with the loss of her mother and grandmother when we are introduced to her, the theme of grief is prominent throughout the story and is handled so well by the author. Elsie is living a normal life until she isn’t. Suddenly she finds herself thrown into the world of the Seelie, the Scottish fae, with one particular fae prince capturing not just her interest, but that of the reader I have no doubt.

This is a spicy romantasy with mystery, magic and great world building that I found easy to understand and not at all complicated. Book one ended on a huge cliffhanger, I had my suspicions in respect of one element but the other blew any mind! I was not expecting it and I can’t wait for book two to find out what happens next.

A Legacy Of The Light is a brilliant romantasy book that had has me in a chokehold since I finished it last week! Since the death of her mother and grandmother Elsie floats through life, existing rather than living. But when she wakes up in a distant realm after receiving a family heirloom, the secrets of Elsie’s family are about to unravel.

From the very first page, I was drawn into the Seelie (think Scottish Fea) world. Amy does such a great job of creating a detailed but accessible fantasy world. It was so easy to understand but so beautifully described, I could picture is so clearly!

Our FMC Elsie, is a character I felt so connected to straight away, her journey of finding herself amidst grief is profoundly moving, making her an inspiring and relatable heroine. She also has such great wit and I enjoyed her inner monologue, one liners greatly!

Prepare to add a new book boyfriend to the list…Prince Tavish, a charming and deeply loyal character with a dirty mouth and a Scottish accent that had me swooning.

The spice in A Legacy Of The Light was spiiiiicing, and if you love slow burn then this one is for you, that payoff after so much teasing is perfection! 😮‍💨 But as well as spicy scenes it was the tension and the burning questions I had that kept me reading until 3am, desperate to know the secrets of Elsie’s family!

The themes of overcoming loss and stepping into your true self resonate deeply, making this book more than just a magical adventure and a testament to the power of Amy’s writing and how you can overcome anything in life.

If you love your romantasy books with richly developed characters, intricate but easy world-building, and an emotional core I highly recommend this book! Amy has crested a masterpiece that will stay with you long after the last page…plus the way you are going to NEED book two!!
