These books are already feeling repetitive. He repeatedly explains things that you would know having read prior books. And not in minor reminder one or two sentace ways. He will spend pages summarizing something that has happened. He will explain things like confessor power or more siths everytime a new character meets them. I find it tedious to continually re read the dame background information.

Also, Richard and the plot around him is interesting, but Kahlan is getting annoying.

Good continuation of the Sword of Truth series. Still not a huge fan of the main characters, but the excellent cast of side characters makes up for it. A unique fantasy world, with unique obstacles to overcome and unique ways of doing it.

Some content warnings: abuse, violence, sexual content, rape.

Terry Goodkind's fourth book in the series seems to be a bit over-streched here and there. Kahlan's and Richard's love for each other is a big bubble of cliches but enjoyable in its own silly way.
For the first time in the series, we do actually witness a bit of a happy ending, which I guess it's a plus.
It was much less thrilling than the rest, at least until I got to the last 25% of the book, where Terry finally picked up the pace and made me don't want to stop reading. It's still one of my favorite fantasy series so far, I'm looking forward to see in how much trouble they'll get into in the next book.

A more frustrating storyline than the others, but still good.
