I thought that this installment of Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard was so much better than the first. The story held my attention and most of the characters were engaging. That being said, I cannot shake the feeling that the plot of all the Magnus Chase books so far are too similar to Riordan's Percy Jackson novels. In a contest between Percy Jackson and Magnus Chase, Percy Jackson will always win in my book.
