Another fantastic book by Nedra Glover Tawwab. So helpful for processing burnout from people pleasing.

Of particular note:

*When... Happened, it was not my fault. Don't feel guilty when you didn't do anything wrong. Practice boundaries until they feel normal."

'Don't blame yourself for what others feel or experience"

"Holding boundaries is a form of self care"

And the big one,

"Sometimes it's best to leave before your breaking point. It's okay to pivot without suffering for a prolonged period. Staying until you can't take anymore takes a lot out of you. Enough can be enough at your discretion."

Thank you for recoding the audiobook

Don’t waste your time. I’m well versed in recognizing and setting boundaries but decided to do this workbook with a friend. We quickly discovered it’s almost useless without the book it’s based on and even then not very useful at all. It doesn’t line up with book chapters, doesn’t give enough information, and expects you to write a few sentences about complex topics. The quizzes are ridiculous and inaccurate in their “results”, the checklists odd, and bullet points incomplete. Particularly frustrating are the “Gather yourself” section at end of chapters. “What came up for you?” How about frustration, anger, and confusion. Throwing this out when we’re done.

I received a copy of this book for review purposes. I was not required to write a positive review. My thoughts are my own.

If you read Set Boundaries, Find Peace (or didn't) and you're looking for a way to apply these principles to your life, this book is the one for you! In this workbook, you have some practical tools to help you create and maintain good boundaries. Tawwab combines checklists, journal prompts, quizzes, and short answer questions to help you define the kinds of boundaries you may need, the barriers to setting them, and strategies to overcome these barriers. I really loved that there are notes to pause at certain points if moving through the workbook becomes overwhelming at any point.

Like Set Boundaries, Find Peace, this workbook covers boundaries of all kinds, in all areas of life, and includes examples of the types of boundaries that may exist in each area of life. The structure of the book allows you to go as deep into the topic as you may need to, and is likely to be a good book to revisit time and again as you face new challenges in life.

Excellent to work through after Set Boundaries, Find Peace. Doesn’t perfectly align with the book, so it’s not great as a simultaneous read.
