Every Jack Reacher book i have read so far (10) has been both exciting and brutal in equal measures. They have also been slightly different. In style, content, characters and plot. This book, the 10th in the series, delivers on every point! Spanning the globe and with a lead villian that rivals a James Bond psychopath anyday! Like, this guy is seriously twisted!
I love Jack Reacher, he becomes such a likeable and relatable character that i can feel like i am living vicariously through him!
Lee Child is brilliant at bringing another adventure of this ex MP and roguish drifter... i cantwait to read #11!!

As much as I love Child's writing style and Reacher the character, I was disappointed in this effort. Yes, Reacher got involved in the case in a unique way that he always manages to do. Yes, he soon found out he was actually fighting for the underdog and switched sides. Yes, he was his usual superconfident self who feared no one and coped with any situation that arose with a cool head and an analytical, steel-trap mind.
Unfortunately, the stakes weren't that high. The foe was not terribly formidable (and Reacher knew that from the start). The plot wasn't very twisty. The fight scenes were few and far between and underwhelming. Reacher didn't even get a hangnail. and finally, the "love interest;" the obligatory female (usually professional LEO of some sort) contributed little to the story and must have been average or worse in bed because Child didn't have Reacher thinking about her constantly like he had been "infatuated" with some of his romances in other books.
Read it if you're a fan of the series. If you're new to Jack Reacher, read "The Killing Floor." It's Child's first Jack Reacher novel and I think one of his best (and one of my favorites).

The second to last book in my Reacherthon, and it was one of the better ones.

The beginning was pretty good and it kept me reading but I didn't like the end and I don't think I will look for more from this series.
I was beginning to think I'd lost my love for Reacher with the last 2 books, but this one brought me back!

Jack did this book the HARD WAY. Good to see Graham Taylor and John Gregory make an appearance. Fat Ron in the next book?
I heard good things about this book, so I read it on a recommendation, but other than Reacher being a great character, this book is awful
