Great as always, slightly more predictable than other Reacher's I've read.
These Reacher books are so great that I'm way to hard on them. Could have easily been 5 but it just wasn't as great as some of Child's best. I think this was number 10 and I can't wait for the 10 I have yet to read.
Great Start, Good Finish
The story starts out nicely. Richly detailed setting in NY. Unsure of what will happen next. 90% of the book was excellent. However, the ending doesn't maintain the same level of quality as the rest of the book.

Standard Lee Child - gripping, exciting and almost believable.
A decent entry, enjoyable for the fact that, unlike other entries, Reacher has some investigating to do and the violence is saved for a final showdown rather than littered mindlessly throughout. Also one of the only books I've read that brings hard-boiled action and violence to East Anglia and Norwich...

A bit more gruesome than some of the others in the series, but that didn't detract from it being an action-packed ride. I can't figure out exactly why I like these books so much - the writing is ok, the characters ok, but something in the pacing of the story pulls me in every single time.
The second Reacher novel I've read, like the first it was a cross between a detective novel and a thriller novel. Fast paced with good bad guys, a great weekend read.
Typical Jack Reacher. Could have been named The Jack Reacher Way, which is usually the hard way - if not for him, then for his unfortunate opponents.
