Overall I had a good time, tempted to give it 4/5 bc I had such a fun time reading the majority of it. Not perfect or overly groundbreaking but very much felt like discovering your fave rom com movie for the first time. It had everything it needed to have. I will be reading the sequel & I’d love to see anything of Ally Carter’s on the screen.

If I had known going in that this book was fade to black when it came to the steam factor, I might not have picked it up... but it certainly explained why it was so short. I still enjoyed it (though my crafting group got an earful about when it felt like a whole chapter or two had been ripped out).

I adored Swayer and Zoe, their chemistry was palpable and the twists and turns of their relationship and plot were at times hilarious and also poignant. Zoe is a heroine who it is easy to root for who is balanced with a witty countenance and the ability to laugh during what could easily be overwhelming, or negative circumstances (but she does cry too).

Well worth the read if you enjoy argumentative repartee that leads to charged atmosphere, absurd and comical plays on tropes, and cunning women who can think, plan, and improvise themselves out of trouble.

This was a lot of fun! It was super quick read with low angst. It really felt like the story was constantly moving and I never felt bored. I enjoyed all of the spy shenanigans and action scenes. I also really liked both “Him” and “Her.” While she could be a little bit cringey at times, she was still really funny and I think it helped make this book even more lighthearted! The formatting of “him” and “her” was also really interesting and I think it added to the mystery/spy vibes.

The plot sucked. The characters had zero chemistry. The writing was juvenile. I love the Gallagher Girls but this was not it.
