Quite strong in the beginning although I was unprepared for the graphic descriptions of child sexual abuse. The second half lagged for me and lacked lustre in comparison to the first half which was quite strong.

4.5*

I loved how raw and emotional this was. The writing was vivid and captivating. I also think the concept was interesting, and I enjoyed it. Leila's journey had me hooked, and I appreciated the subtle details in her story that made her who she was. A powerful book overall, and one I'm glad I picked up.

The first half of this was a high 4 fs but the second half lost me bad. I started speed-reading which is when I know things have steeply declined for me personally đź’” the first half of the book felt rich and beautifully woven together but the second half was more like crepe paper….idk I found the dialogue between her friends honestly kind of corny and repetitive, like we were on a scooby-doo heist with one-dimensional characters- which is NOT at all how I felt during the former half!! So this one kind of let me down at the end of the day ): I don’t believe it lives up to the hype. Like truly idk what happened there.
