Sometimes things hit a lull when you get to the 6th book of a series.
As good as Daniel Silva and the Gabriel Allon series are, this entry felt
like a bit of a lull. Not that there was not a lot of action...many things
explode, lots of gun fire, and people die...but it felt like the characters
did not advance much, so it ended up more like a classic Clive Cussler
novel where the heroes solve the problems and go back home at the end.
Even so, this is one of the best action series that I have ever read, and I
will keep on going through the rest.

I saw Daniel Silva speak at the 2007 National Book Festival in DC and he had a large following of fans, which prompted my friend Caitlin and I to read this book. I don't usually read spy thrillers, so this was fun to read. It blends religious and art history with terrorism. It is fun and fast to read.
Another solid Allon book. Nothing new about this one, in particular. I still enjoy reading them when I need a break from something really dense in nature.
Plot follows same pattern as other Gabriel Allon books I have read. But Silva writes extremely well and for a summer read, he kept me intrigued and engaged.
