okay. i am just. okay. it takes a bit to get into, but man...incredible. i love virginia woolf!! i cannot wait to reread this as my life goes on, to see how this changes with me. even though i read this for school, i have been wanting to read this for awhile -- i even owned the book beforehand! even though i can't truly relate to the themes of motherhood and death, there is something for everyone in this book -- if you are able to get past the stream of consciousness style, after all.

I just couldn’t get myself to care about the characters, their issues or the grief/hope/lighthouse situation… The writing itself makes it a two star book, but if it were any longer than it was, it would have been a dnf
