the synopsis sounded so much better than it actually was.
a bed bound man; his only reliance his mother in law; who’s treating him badly AND digging a hole in the garden without explaining to him?? it made it sound so good! but i didn’t really enjoy it that much
i didn’t feel for the man because he’s just made out to be a inconsiderate person
he reflects on his past relationship with his dead wife and reminisced situations in which he was the worst husband
and then he wants others to take care of him without pondering if he is actually worth taking care of
i know it sounds harsh but that’s just what i got from the book
still it was somewhat enjoyable and a 2.5 stars
