Loved the subtle details that made the main character unlikable. The last couple of chapters had more ‘action’ than the rest of the novel, but that’s not to say the rest of the novel was disinteresting. It could have been a bit more fast-paced, but I think the ‘slow-burn’ really helped build the tension that led up to the ending (although it was fairly predictable). I enjoyed this book & would definitely recommend picking it up!

Finished this book and felt like I'd run a marathon. Fantastic writing. If you're looking for a depressing book about the intricacies of emotional abuse and generational trauma this is it.

This was an okay read for me. The story is good, I'm just not a fan of how it was executed and I found myself feeling a bit bored at times. It was painfully obvious what was happening and what would happen and that took some of the fun away for me. I was hoping for a twist that I didn't see coming, but it ended up the exact way I thought it would.
