A classic one-shot setup giving some room to explore a character concept, and in a way, somewhat of a spiritual sequel to the Dark Knights spinoff of Metal: Billy Batson has been infected by the Batman Who Laughs with Joker toxin, and is now an angsty, angry, and viscious child feeling out the extent of his powers absent his usual moral compass.

The issue is mostly fireworks, flashes of lightning, and fist fights as 'King' Shazam works his way through the the divine and magical pantheons.

The proceedings largely give an impression that the consequences of this going forward will be light to nonexistant, so read this if you like the concept and are in for the show. To its credit, the ending feels like a setup for meaningful things going forward, but it's nothing you won't be able to juat walk into if it reappears.
