Very informative. Way too much going on in my opinion.

Well-researched and put together, but let down by the standard of writing (eg. book constantly jumps from the future to the past confusing the reader, use of the word “but” twice or more in a sentence without a clause in between).

A book which claims that dozens of files were kept on the rich & famous in LA in the 1950s & 60s by a department in the LAPD (the OCID), including Marilyn Monroe. These restricted files allegedly contain evidence which confirm that not only was Robert Kennedy was in LA on 5th August 1962 (the day Monroe died) but that he was instrumental in her murder. This was all corroborated years later in a face-to-face interview between ex-police detective Mike Rothmiller & Peter Lawford (actor & ex-husband of Pat Lawford nee Kennedy) who was also there.

It also alleges that Marilyn didn't die with the telephone in her hand, she hadn't taken an overdose of pills (none were found in her stomach), she wasn't naked, & she didn't even die in the bedroom - that was all staged in the aftermath & the accidental overdose narrative & subsequent re-examinations of the case have all been whitewashes.

I'll say right from the off that I have always believed that Marilyn Monroe was murdered. Her death was just too convenient for certain people & the evidence & changing testimony of those there that night just don't fit with suicide or accidental death. The scenario posited by this book hangs together with the evidence a lot better than the bs we've been fed for decades. The only issue is that as Rothmiller was unable to sneak any evidence out of the department & most of those involved are now dead, we have to take everything on trust. It's very very plausible though.

This really isn’t my sort of book, I’m sure someone interested in this subject would like it but it wasn’t for me

My partner brought it for me so I tried to read it

Fascinating story!

I have never really dug into all the conspiracy theories regarding the Kennedys and Marilyn Monroe, but this story holds water to me. I really couldn't put the book down.
