Didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I did but I really liked it!!!
After reading Geek Girl, I knew that I wanted to pick up the rest of the series. So that’s what I did! I picked Model Misfit earlier last week but then I got distracted by other books so I had to put it back down. However on Saturday, I decided to finish it and it honestly didn’t take me that long. While these books aren’t very short, they are quick to read due to the pacing and the fact that you’re constantly laughing and smiling while reading them.

What I really like about this book is its heroine, Harriet Manners! I think she's fresh, cute and has a touch of naïvety that suits her well.
But the rest of the book? Well I absolutely don't mind unbelievable plots with teens. When I'm reading a book about "a geek" that has been promoted to darling supermodel extraordinaire, I know what I'm getting into and usually love it (I blame all those Disney tv-movies really) but somehow, I want them to embrace it to their fullest potential and in the Geek Girl series, welll, I don't think it's done and too many clichés are set for me to really enjoy it.
I'd say Model Misfit is a fun book. The strongest point is Harriet and her family and friends. I'd just remove everything about the boy. I don't think that removing him from the story would hurt at all. After all we barely saw him (but Harriet talked a lot about him ;/ and his presence was not really necessary.
I'm sure Harriet could have fun adventures either way!

Another fun adventure with Harriet Manners, geek girl turned fashion model. This time her photo shoot is in Tokyo. She finds herself under the supervision of her estranged step-grandmother, living with two other models she's never met before. The lights and sounds and feeling of Japan come through very strongly in this book, and the audiobook had the added benefit of the Japanese parts being pronounced correctly. Definitely a lighthearted read, but it does address themes of friendship. How did I forget that Harriet is a redhead?!
lighthearted
slow-paced
Another really great book with awesome characters from the first! I am eagerly awaiting book 3!
I have no idea what captivates me so much about this story. I really just can't place my finger on what it exactly is but there's something there that just makes me feel absolutely blissful while reading it. Being able to connect to Harriet makes me feel like the story is a friend rather than a book. I am greatly anticipating the next installment.
